Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Arrival Procedures

Car Riders, Bus Riders and Walkers

  • Students in kindergarten, first, second and fifth grades will enter through the front doors of the building.
  • Students in third and fourth grades will enter through the south doors.
  • Car riders and bus riders will be dropped off in the car lane.
  • Buses park in front of the crosswalk.
  • Students need to be safe and cross Clinton and Jackson streets with the adult crossing guard.
  • No students should be dropped off in the front parking lot unless their parent or guardian is going to walk them across the driveway crosswalk or pull into a parking place and make sure they are safe to cross.

Arrival Guidelines

  • Students should not arrive earlier than 8:35 a.m. unless they are in a school club.
  • Arriving before 8:35 a.m. is a safety issue. Adult supervision does not begin until 8:35 a.m.

JCPRD Program

  • Students enrolled in JCPRD enter through the south doorbell entrance with their parent or guardian.

Dismissal Procedures

North Walkers

Students will meet siblings and/or friends outside the north exit of the building as they are being dismissed. Staff will walk the students to the edge of the property line at Lincoln Street and students may walk to the cul-de-sac through the field. Students will not be permitted to walk across Clinton Street or the front driveway at this intersection. Ravenwood staff will not stop traffic and be crossing guards at this intersection. These students must be south walkers and cross with the adult crossing guard at the corner of Jackson, Clinton and Lincoln streets.

South Walkers

Students will meet siblings and/or friends outside the south exit of the building as they are being dismissed. Staff will walk the students to the edge of the property line at Lincoln Street. Students will not be permitted to walk through the south parking lot or across Lincoln Street at this intersection. Ravenwood staff will not stop traffic and be crossing guards at this intersection. Students must use the sidewalk and walk around to the adult crossing guard at the corner of Jackson, Clinton and Lincoln streets. Staff will assist students across the school driveway to the south.

Car Riders and Bus Riders

Car riders will stay in one grade level classroom until their car number is displayed. Students will meet siblings and/or friends at their cars in the pick-up lane. Bus riders will be taken to the buses by a staff member. Cars will line up in the pick-up lane with their number displayed on the rearview mirror or front dashboard.

JCPRD Program

All JCPRD students will be walked to the cafeteria at dismissal.
